Bordering Turkmenistan to the southwest, Kazakhstan to the north, and Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to the south and east, Uzbekistan is not one of the larger Central Asian states. Despite Uzbekistan’s size and its diverse topography from the desert sands of the Kyzyl Kum to the snowy Tian Shan Mountains, it has a generally uniform continental climate with very hot summers and ice cold winters. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit.
November to March and it is dry, cool, and cloudy in Uzbekistan. Temperature are between minus 2 and 7 °C (28-45°F) in the capital, Tashkent, in January. But by March this has risen to 5 to 16°C (41-60 °F). Make sure to pack plenty of warm clothing if traveling at this time These months are the nation’s rainy season, seeing about 40 mm per month, though it is highly unpredictable.
