Mongolia in August

June to August is the Mongolian summer, a great time to visit when it is largely dry and warm, and the lush steppes gently turn to bright green. Temperatures in the capital in July are between 12 and 25°C (54-77 °F) with rainfall of 25 mm. July sees Mongolia’s most well attended event, the Naadam Festival, or traditional Mongolian games, where Mongolian athletes compete in wrestling, horse racing and archery across the nation over several days. In a nation where there are more horse than people, the summer provides an ideal time to horse trek across the nation’s mountains, forests and vast golden deserts, a true adventurer’s paradise.
