Kazakhstan in April

Kazakhstan’s brief and cool spring starts in late April and goes through May. The season is heaven for naturalists as the steppe and hills come into blossom and dozens of species of different migrating birds flock in, with the tree-covered regions of Kazakhstan, mostly around Almaty, keeping their deep green color the whole year round. Though Astana remains cold, still falling below zero most nights, Almaty is warm in May with temperatures between 10-23 °C (50-73 °F). As the temperatures are neither too hot nor too cold at this time, it proves a wonderful time to go cycling and camping among the country’s southern mountain slopes.
